Fresh install stuck on Initializing Location Database (Windows 11)
Could not access the game because it was "initializing localization database" indefinitely. Windows 11, brand new build.
Uninstalled the game using a 3rd party uninstaller (Revo) to purge PC of all files related to the game, in addition to manually deleting the Wizards\MTG Arena folder in Program Files. This was done per the instructions of an Arena support rep.
Tried a fresh install and the same problem persisted. After speaking with a rep, they suggested I uninstall again and "Download the latest .msi file by following this link:
https://mtgarena.downloads.wizards.com/Live/Windows64/versions/4277.956000/MTGAInstaller_0.1.4277.956000.msi". After a the full uninstall and the setup for the provided .MSI file, I am greeted with an "outdated client" message and will not allow me to proceed.
I uninstalled everything an additional time and tried to install Arena through the the Epic Games Launcher. Same "initializing location database" error.
For the record, I am not using any VPN. I am located in the United States.
On the one hand, this is a different issue than the "loading card database" loop I was experiencing last month when this PC (which has no other issues) was freshly built. On the other hand, I'm pretty confident "initializing localization database" is an earlier process in the Arena startup. So, yay for negative progress.
Please help, I just want to give you my money. That's all I ask.
