You know it's bad when you play this garbage for as long as I have and still feel compelled to reach out online over this matter, telling more personal MTGA experiences than anybody cares to read.
Just played a few brawl games to do the daily objective. Interesting stats:
- I went second on almost all of them, and had two lands on ALL opening hands, even after taking a mulligan on the first 3 games. On two of them, my opening hand had two colorless lands. This deviates SO MUCH from the expected math --> my deck had 36 lands: 26 white ones and 10 colorless. But shills give us the "oh it's variance" ********;
- First game was vs. Azusa Strip Mine. They reached 5 land drops per turn and playing the S. Mine from the graveyard by turn 5. A 4-mana boardwipe (the deck I used runs all the ones that I have in my collection), or Rest in Peace would have done the job. One card. But they had the much less likely 3-card combo online before I could do something impactful
-Second match was vs. the Muxus that looks at the 6 topmost cards of the library and freecasts Goblins this way. I thought I had a chance here, but oh well, all 6 topmost cards were goblins, and one of them gave all goblins haste! I don't remember what turn he cast Muxus but it was earlier than it should have been, given his mana cost. Turn 4 or 5 for sure. How lucky-- I mean skilled deckbuilding! And where were, say, my Settle the Wreckage, Teferi's Protection, Ghostly Prison, Archangel of Tithes, Authority of the Consuls, and/or Phyrexian Vindicator? The odds here are just comical. But shills will ignore the fact that all the top 6 cards were goblins and had haste and just focus on me, "the odds of you drawing those cards were so low dude" type ********.
- On the third one, opponent had all the time in the world to do what they wanted because I only drew land. Even with Land Tax triggering every turn, I went and got those 3 plains (12 total just from Land tax triggers) and STILL. DREW. LAND. EACH. TURN. But shills will give us the "oh that's anecdotal, the odds of that are so low, no one believes you" ********
- I have 15 boardwipes on my deck. Across these 3 games, I only drew 1 of them
- At no point in any game did anything go well for me. My impactful creatures were removed instantly. My removal was not enough or they had protection spells at the right time. Classic rigging experience, from what I can tell from other people's comments.
- Fourth game was against Vivi. At this point, I just couldn't take any more **** and conceded without caring about what my hand was.
- Then I started writing this, give the algorithm half an hour to acknowledge my 4 losses in a row.
- Finally I was able to play a match where the opponent wasn't living the magical Christmas Candyland Experience, and ended up -- imagine this -- having fun! Not because I won; even if I had lost, there was back and forth and the game had critical thinking, planning, and decisions to be made within it. A good Arena experience is rare so I do cherish it when it happens. Too bad it's only like 3-5% of the total games :(
I'm used to the rigging by now and most days I'm like "eh whatever". But this was extreme, even for what I'm used to seeing and experiencing in MTGA.
Sure, I have days where games go smoothly. Winning because the opponent doesn't draw their third land, all playlines falling in place and whatnot. But being on the other end is just as boring, and quite frankly, gives me the impression that it's Arena that decides what days I get to play the game-- I mean, scam.
That's all the game is. A scam. Our words here mean zero to them and even if we're right they will gaslight us and hide under 10,000 feet of layers of ****, pestilence, and legal safety. As long as they keep seeing revenue it won't stop.
HOW does this rigged trash keeps churning money? Honestly I feel like me not spending a single cent since installation is somehow connected to my bad Arena experience. But shills will say "oh that's just conjecture, you have no proof". ***** my 5 years Arena experience, all the data I've seen on the internet, and how WOTC/Hasbro handles these complaints is proof enough to know that the game-- I mean scam-- is a shady piece of sh-- I mean software that takes advantage of the best TCG out there and appeals to its playerbase through it! Even targeting younger audiences with some of their recent products! Despicable. The ones pulling the strings should be publicly shamed, and never be able to work on anything that involves consummers' money ever again.
