Clicking "Cancel" when waiting for match to start results in a lose if status changes to "Entering match" at the same time
When you click "Cancel" while waiting for match to start (I was playing Quick draft), it results in a lose if the status on the screen changes to "Entering match" at the same time you click "Cancel".
In this log I was able to play one more match, which I won and then when returning to Quick draft -screen, instead of a win I got my third lose.
My suggestion is that there should be some kind of timer in the software for this situation, so you can freely click "Cancel" and the game actually registers it, even if the screen status changed to "Entering match" at the same time.

Had the same issue playing on my iPhone, so no logs here. This is really annoying. This bug should definitely be fixed.

Just had the Same issue and it sucks hard when you get a loose even though you are Not Even playing a Game

Not sure why this hasn't been fixed because there are bug reports for it going back a couple years.
There is a workaround if you know what to look for. If you see that the message changes to say that it's joining a match or waiting for opponent or whatever as you cancel out, you can quickly restart your client and it will rejoin the match. That's of course assuming you didn't cancel out because you realized you don't have time to play the match.

After waiting 5 minutes to entry in a match, I canceled it. I losed this match without playing it.

For Draft problems go to https://mtgarena-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/requests/new/ and select "Report a problem with my event."

Clicking "cancel" while searching for a match seems to have resulted in a loss without any visual indications. I was 3-1 when I signed out, and 3/2 when I logged back in.
I've attached the game logs for those sessions for reference. I confirmed by looking at 17-lands; the most recent event, I have a 3-3 record, but only 5 games logged.

17lands even captures that I was able to go on and play another game, and then when I returned to the event page I had somehow accumulated another loss.

This really should be fixed. If you hit cancel, it should not forfeit you a game if it happens to match in less than the reaction time of a human hand.

This just happened to me twice in the span of three drafts. Once I wanted to make a quick change to the deck and the other time I had to leave to attend something. I combined the two logs in the attachment.
In the last couple of years of playing, I've had over a dozen of these losses that I recall. And it's not that I'm mass cancelling for no reason or anything, it just happens way too often. Even when I try to conciously avoid cancelling at all costs, sometimes I just forget after a while, because, well, if you want to cancel for whatever reason, that button is there to remind you that you can do it, especially when you're waiting 3+ minutes in a TD queue.
It's not about the gems anymore because luckily I do have more than enough and after doing it a few times it just feels dumb to keep reporting to get the entry gems back. If I had actually reported every single time it's happened, it would look like I'm gaming the system for free resources.
So yeah, it just seems like a significantly relevant bug to me, that I'm surprised it has never been seemingly addressed seriously and I had to dig this deep to even find a report here. If this post somehow helps just a little bringing up this bug a bit in the priority list and giving it some visibility, I guess I'd be happy!

This happened to me too, and in a decathalon nonetheless. Is there any way to reset this loss, or is it permanent, even though no game took place?

I was waiting for a match, and canceled.
Due to the time laps before taking into account the cancellation, I got paired (apparently).
However, I came back to the draft score page and modify my deck. At this time only 2 defeat appeared.
Then when I finished deck modification, I came back to the draft table score, and get 3 defeat. I loses my draft that way.
Please find the log below.
It would be nice if I could get back that draft.Best regards
