Gandalf the White and Faramir, Field Commander Bug
Version: 2023.27.10.4623.1013452
Game Status: On my battlefield, I had a Faramir, Field Commander and a 1/1 white human soldier that was my ring-bearer. I attacked with this 1/1 and my opponent blocked with a 1/3 Pelagrir Survivor. Before damage, I flashed in Gandalf the White. The 1/1 ring-bearer died in combat. I went to my end step. Faramir triggered and I drew one card. Gandalf the White did not trigger.
According to the Release Notes for Gandalf the White:
The trigger event doesn't have to specifically refer to legendary permanents or to artifacts, nor does it have to specifically refer to when something "leaves the battlefield." For example, an ability that triggers "whenever a creature dies" would trigger twice if a legendary creature or an artifact creature dies while Gandalf the White is on the battlefield, as would an ability that triggers "whenever a permanent is put into a graveyard from the battlefield."
And:
Look at each legendary permanent and each artifact as it exists on the battlefield, taking into account continuous effects, to determine whether any triggered abilities will trigger multiple times. For example, if a nonlegendary creature that has become legendary (probably because it's a player's Ring-bearer) dies, an ability that triggers when it leaves the battlefield triggers twice.
To me, this sounds like it states that Gandalf should have seen the Ring-Bearer as a legendary permanent, and when Faramir triggers from it leaving the battlefield, Gandalf should have triggered and I should have drawn two cards.

Faramir, Field Commander doesn't trigger when a creature dies. He triggers at the beginning of the end step, if the intervening-if clause that a creature died under your control this turn is true. This is an end of turn trigger, which Gandalf doesn't interact with.
