Forcing player to make choice that is already being blocked by opponent's cards...
The system has an inconsistency.
For some events, when a card stops them from happening, the system does this automatically. When Elesh Norn stops ETB effects from happening, the system just glows a moment when an ETB effect would happen doesn't.
On the other hand... sometimes it doesn't. When someone else is playing a card that says nothing can get counters, and I have a card that says whenever I gain life, I can put a counter on a creature, the system makes me choose what creature should get the counter and then just ignores it.
If I get 5 or 10 life a turn, this means 5 or 10 times that I have to click to choose where to put the counter that then doesn't happen.
Can the system just not force me to pick a target when it cannot happen.
The extra clicks are really frustrating and also just adds to time of the round when they cannot work.

The action of targeting is game relevant, because cards like Crystalline Nautilus exist. Therefore it cannot be skipped.
