tendrils of agony ignoring hexproof
During play an opponent cast tendrils of agony with a storm count of 7. With the first copy on the stack I responded by casting Veil of Summer giving me hexproof. The only legal target for Tendrils of Agony should have then been my opponent but they were able to still select me as the target and have the original spell and all seven copies fizzle. Shouldn't the opponent have had to choose themself as they were now the only legal target for Tendrils of Agony?

No. They can choose to change the target of the copies, but they don't have to, even if the target of the original has become illegal. A copy of a spell has the same targets as the original by default.
