Arena needs a dusting system -- can't play formats I want.
I love magic and spend lots of money on it for paper and arena (to draft). But I'll be leaving MTG Arena sadly because of the way it is monetized. The fun of the game for me is building new decks and trying different formats. My favourite is drafting. But after a certain point, I can't keep buying gems to draft, so I play constructed to get some gold up so I can draft. But despite having played for years, I can't get enough rare wildcards to play decks I actually would like to play--and there's no way I can theory craft when spending rare and mythic wildcards are so hard to come by. So you get stuck just playing some meta deck you can craft. It's horribly boring. Meanwhile there are probably thousands of unused rares and mythics sitting in my "collection" (not sure it's a collection if you don't own it). Those cards will never see the light of day as most are unplayable. I think WoTC think this is somehow a profitable model to force players to buy more gems and packs and stuff. All it does is **** people off. I'd spend so much more time and money on this game if I had some freedom to do the actual things I enjoy. But I always get to a point where I just have to quit. I'm constantly searching for a game that is what MTG Arena can and should be. There are such easy solutions.

You don't even need to be creative, just look at how others are doing it. Hearthstone's system isn't amazing, but it's infinitely better than this one. Sad part is you have a better game with a more committed player base. Just copy a monetization system that isn't some half-assed attempt at the exploitative mobile game model.

Look at the way League of Legends and many other games monetize their game, literally mostly with aesthetics. If I replaced most other games with this one and spent most of my time on it, instead of getting priced out of it--this is the main thing I would play. And I'd want to buy sleeves, maybe a cool play board, an avatar, etc. And sure, I'm sure you have some people spending tens of thousands of dollars, the traditional "whales". But I've spent hundreds on this game, maybe more over the years. I'd have spent that, maybe even more over the years if it were easier to draft more consistently and easier to play more types of decks across more formats. But the way it's set up now, I'll say, alright, I can spend $15 on drafting this week, or 2 weeks or whatever. Then I'm out and move on to something else. Playing the same constructed deck over and over and over makes it so that I don't even have the motivation to grind back up to 5k gold to get another draft. If I knew I could consistently play this game and have fun then I'd invest in having some cool looking stuff. But because of this idiotic model, I play a bit, quit, play a bit, quit. You're really shooting yourselves in the foot.
