Very poor experience with arena - multiple issues
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the current state of Magic Arena. Since the Bloomburrow release, I have experienced persistent issues that severely impact the gameplay experience.
These issues include:
Frequent Crashing: The game crashes consistently, often during matches, leading to lost progress and frustration. This has rendered the game virtually unplayable at times.
Sideboard Bug: The unfixed sideboard bug prevents me from making any changes to my sideboard, significantly hindering my ability to adapt during matches.
Graphical Glitches: The game suffers from broken overlays, random white overlays in the top menu, and other graphical glitches that detract from the visual experience.
Questionable Shuffle Algorithm: The frequency with which I experience mana flood and no/low land situations far exceeds what should be statistically probable. While I understand variance is inherent to Magic, the consistent occurrence of these extreme scenarios suggests a potential flaw in the shuffling algorithm. My own testing using a Python implementation of the Fisher-Yates algorithm does not replicate this issue.
I have attempted various troubleshooting steps, including updating drivers, reinstalling the game, and wiping ad reinstalling an entire operating system, to no avail. Theres also many who reported these issues to customer support, but a satisfactory resolution has not been provided.
As a paying customer and a long-time fan of Magic: The Gathering, I urge Wizards of the Coast to address these issues promptly. The current state of Magic Arena is unacceptable, and it is severely impacting my enjoyment of the game.
I request the following actions:
Thorough Investigation: A comprehensive investigation into the root causes of these issues, particularly the crashing and the shuffling algorithm concerns.
Timely Resolution: Swift implementation of fixes to resolve these issues and restore the game to a playable and enjoyable state.
Transparency: Clear communication with the player community regarding the progress of the investigation and the expected timeline for fixes.
I trust that Wizards of the Coast will take these concerns seriously and prioritize the resolution of these issues. I look forward to a prompt and satisfactory response.
