Alchemy should be opt in/out
Alchemy is a bad version of Hearthstone and does not FEEL like magic.
I hate the facts cards are made out of "thin air" and often have an RNG element. Cards like Mythweaver Poq would feel right at home in Hearthstone and dose not mesh with the normal gameplay of Magic. Many of the cards that have the spellbook, conjure, and perpetually feel too strong and brake fundamental rules of MTG. Keywords like seek and boon are not as bad as they fit a more Magic style of play.
Think for example of a card like Skyshroud Lookout, that has "seek an elf". If it said, "reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal and elf, put that card into your hand, shuffle your library" That would feel like a magic card. Effectively seek take away information from your opponent but for you the end result is the same. That does not damage the feeling of playing MTG.
Now let's take the example of the card mentioned before, Mythweaver Poq. This card lets you create and put into play one extra land card every time your first nontoken land enters the battlefield. You make a card out of thin air and ramp at the same time for the already advantageous action of playing your land for turn. This does not search your deck. It does not allow you to play an additional land, it just enters and triggers landfall. It gives extra copies of unique lands in singleton formats and does not FEEL at all like a magic card.
Honestly if I see a card with the alchemy logo, I read it and if it is not a balance change, I leave the match on the spot. This hurts not only my game experience but the other players as well.
I can understand why some people might like these types of cards and I MIGHT like them in a different game, but not here. This could all be solved by making alchemy cards opt in/out when selecting the format, you are playing in. I will continue to leave any match I see them in and down vote everyone I get the option to.
