Teysa of the ghost council, Incorrect rules interaction

Destroyed Teysa of the ghost council using Withering Torment during the Main Phase of the opponent's turn, and it was still brought back to the battlefield on the beginning of his next upkeep. The texts stipulates that the card is returned to the battlefield IF the controlling player of the card exiled it himself using the card's ability.

The rule in question :
At the beginning of your end step, you may exile Teysa. If YOU do, at the beginning of your next upkeep, return Teysa to the battlefield under its owner’s control and it gains haste.
