Bug: Attacked twice when I shouldn't have
I was playing a game and I attacked with Aerith Gainsborough. I had her equipped with Black Mage's Staff and she was 3/4 (base power 2/2, +1/+1 counter and +1/+0 from the staff). The opponent double blocked and then I cast Vayne's treachery (not kicked) to destroy a 1/1 hero token of my opponent's (it wasn't blocking).
Because I cast an instant and she had black mage's staff attached she dealt 1 damage to the opponent which had lifelink so I gained a life and she gained an extra +1/+1 counter. Then arena resolved the triggers on the stack and moved to the damage step.
What should have happened is that I would pick the order combat damaged applied and then damage was dealt. The math meant that the block creatures would have died and she would've had 1 toughness remaining. I would've gained 5 life from lifelink and she would've gained another +1/+1 counter (bringing her to three so she would've been 6/5 with 3 damage).
I also had a Judge Master Gabranth on the field. The opponent had 5 or 6 creatures total and I had hero token.
What actually happened, is when play moved to the damage step she attacked (without selecting damage order) and got dealt 3 combat damage but none of the creatures died. She then attacked again, properly this time as the order of combat damage selection appeared, she attacked again and was combat damage was dealt again and thus all three creatures died (Aerith having been dealt damage twice by each blocking creature).
Once she died her death trigger occurred and +1/+1 counters were placed onto Gabranth. I checked all the appropriate cards immediately after, there were nothing that should've caused an weirdness here, she just attacked twice when she shouldn't have.
I didn't keep track of how much life I gained, how much damage the blocking creatures were dealt or how many +1/+1 counters were placed on Gabranth.
I also had a White Auracite that could've been tapped to pay for the Vayne's Treachery.

I tried attaching my game log but the request would not submit.
EDIT: I also lost the match because of this even though I almost certainly would've won from this game position. This meant I didn't get at least 750 gems I otherwise would have. I'm also attempting to add the log after closing arena.

One of the blockers definitely had first strike (or even double strike). Which means, there were two combat damage steps, and the first striker was the only creature allowed to deal combat damage during the first combat damage step. Your Aerith and the other blockers did not deal any combat damage during that first combat damage step. All those creatures got to deal their combat damage in the second combat damage step. That's why you got to assign damage order in that second combat damage step only. If you are the attacking player, Arena shows your attacker "hitting" a blocker even though it is only the blocker with first strike or double strike hitting your creature.
First strike and double strike cause a combat phase to have two combat damage steps, if at least one attacker or blocker has either ability. In the first combat damage step, only creatures with first strike or double strike get to deal combat damage. Creatures without either ability receiving lethal damage here will die before they can strike back. In the second combat damage step all attackers and blockers that didn't deal combat damage yet, and all attackers and blockers with double strike get to deal combat damage. (A bit wierdly phrased, I know, but that is due to the fact, that a creature can gain first strike after the first round of combat damage, and it has to be given opportunity to strike nonetheless if in combat.)
