Ability to exclude cards when searching for a match
This platform would appeal to the non-meta players so much if you allowed the ability to exclude say 10 cards when searching for matches.
You can't put them in your decks, nor can you be matched with an opponent who has them.
I like to make my IRL decks and test them, and I'm not saying I expect to play decks on the same level as me, but the receptiveness is insanely boring. "Oh shock another landfall chocobo deck", "Oh shock 4 x Unstoppable Slasher", "Oh shock the 0/1 wizards".
The issue isn't losing, and I'm lucky that I do get odd win, the issue is there's nothing to stop coming up against the same meta decks over and over again.
Add in something like above, where you can actually exclude certain cards from your search pool, and it might make games a little more varied and interesting for those who don't wanna meta.

I'd suggest that a more practical way to implement this feature would be to allow us to select one or more deck archetypes (e.g. aggro, life gain, control, etc.) on the matchmaking screen that you do / don't want to match against.
This would effectively only require a simple and small checkbox list to be added to the matchmaking screen, whereas selecting individual cards requires a much larger browser (with searching and filtering capabilities, like in the Deck Builder).
Internally, MTGA already classifies all your decks based on the cards that are in them, so allowing us to filter the matchmaking algorithm based on this metadata is really what we're asking for here.
For the record, I'm also nauseated by seeing the same decks over and over — especially mono red aggro. I just scoop the instant I see a red card drop on turn one with the word 'haste' on it, as the outcome of that game is already determined at that point.
