Opponent cast Torch the Tower targeting the Cat token from Ajani, Nacatl Pariah.
Torch the Tower reads "if a creature dealt damage by [this spell] this turn would die, exile it instead".
The Cat token was exiled (correctly), but Ajani's triggered ability "when one or more other Cats you control die, ..." triggered anyways, even though the Cat didn't actually die (it was exiled).
I believe this behavior is different from how it was several months ago but don't have records to prove it.
