Card Not working correctly
Gideon of the Trials first ability, +1: Until your next turn, prevent all damage target permanent would deal. When cast on a creature and that creature attacks and is blocked by a creature with the ability that says "any damage done to it is dealt to the opponent instead" should not cause any damage to be done to the opponent as all damage done by that creature is being nullified by Gideons ability.
Fix this! It is a bug that is being abused by at least three players. I know because I have faced all three of them and it took until the third one to figure out what was wrong!

Not a bug. Since both Gideon's effect and the creature's effect are both replacement effects, the affected creature's controller chooses the order in which to apply them. One at a time. And after each one, replacement effects may become applicable or inapplicable. The player continues to apply one at a time until, none are applicable anymore. In your scenario, Gideon becomes inaplicable after applying then creature's effect. So the damage gets redirected, and nothing gets prevented.
