MTGA macOS fullscreen resolution bug reintroduced (Aug 20, 2025 patch)
Platform: macOS (MacBook Air M2 13", 2560×1664 display, Epic Games Launcher)
Since the August 20, 2025 patch, MTGA no longer respects custom fullscreen resolutions on macOS.
Before this update, I was able to run the game in 2560×1440 fullscreen (16:9) using Epic Launcher arguments (-screen-fullscreen 1 -screen-width 2560 -screen-height 1440).
After the patch, MTGA forces fullscreen into native 16:10 (2560×1664), cropping UI on the left/right edges, and ignores any -screen-width/-screen-height overrides.
Windowed mode still works correctly and allows 16:9 resolutions, but fullscreen no longer behaves as expected.
Steps to reproduce:
On macOS, set Epic Games Launcher additional arguments:
-screen-fullscreen 1 -screen-width 2560 -screen-height 1440
Launch MTGA in fullscreen.
Observe that the game ignores the requested resolution and forces native 16:10 with cropped UI.
Expected behavior:
Fullscreen should respect the requested 2560×1440 (16:9) resolution as it did prior to the Aug 20, 2025 patch.
Additional notes:
This bug was first reported after the v2025.48 update in April 2025, and seems to have resurfaced in the Aug 20, 2025 patch.
Multiple users have confirmed the same regression on macOS.
Windowed mode works as a workaround, but fullscreen is broken.

I managed to fix the issue by turning off Fullscreen mode in the graphics settings. Then I used Mission Control (three-finger swipe up on the trackpad) to view all open windows, then dragged the MTG Arena window to the top of the screen to assign it as its own Space / virtual desktop. That way it still runs in Windowed mode, but effectively behaves like a fullscreen app – and the cropping problem is gone.
