Replacing card text "this card" with "Urban Retreat" had made it much clearer. -

Just realized the issue: The card's effect says to put the land onto the battlefield FROM THE HAND. Due to this, the ability only works while the card is in the hand.

I wanted to use it in the 2nd main as a sorcery.
No option to activate ability. -

"Activate only as a sorcery."
You can't use it as a response to save a creature.
