Restoration Magic to an opponent creature
The opponent wanted to kill their creature, and I tried to prevent it with Restoration Magic. The opposing creature had indestructible, but hexproof didn't trigger! The creature could still take damage!

Hexproof does not hinder the controller of the permanent, only their opponents. You simply made YOURSELF unable to target the creatue for the turn .
Also, hexproof does not trigger, it is a static ability, that's always on.
