After my 'Mosswood Dreadknight' died, my opponent selected '2' for 'Talion the Kindly Lord,' to trigger off of the 'Dread Whispers' (1+B, for CMC 2) from Graveyard play.
I instead played an 'Al Bed Salvagers' (2+B, for CMC 3) but Talion still triggered. I played both the Dread Whispers and Mossswood Dreadknight next to test if they would trigger, and they did.
I suspect Talion registered the two colorless mana being generated before the black mana was added to the CMC and triggered early.

Taslion lokks at THREE things: mana value, POWER and TOUGHNESS. Any one of these matching the chosen value will trigger the ability.
Al Bed Salvagers has power 2, thus trigger.
Dread Whispers has mana value 2, thus trigger.
Mosswood Dreadknight has toughness 2, thus trigger.
