Game says I can't lose my rank badge until the end of the season, but each time I lose too many matches, I do lose rank badge.
The game gives hints and notes before a match, and one was that I cannot lose a rank badge after obtaining it, until season ends. But I keep losing rank every time I lose a match.

You cannot lose rank, but you can lose TIERS within a rank. The ranks are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Mythic. The tiers are 1, 2, 3, and 4. You can fall all the way down to tier 4 of a rank. But you cannot fall from Gold to Silver, for example.
