Comet Stellar Pup didn't have to collect evidence on Axebane Ferox
I lost a game because Comet didn't have to pay the ward on Axebane Ferox by collect evidence 4. They only had a 1 drop, and two 2 drops in the bin and therefore would have had to exile the two 2 drops, instead the killed the axebane and on Comet's next roll they got back one of the two 2 drops, Lightning Helix, from the bin and killed me.

Comet doesn't target with its 4-5 result. The creature that will take damage is chosen on resolution. You can tell that it is not targeted by the lack of the word "target" in the ability. Only if something is identified by the word "target" is it a target. Objects and players can be affected without being targeted.
