Patrician not triggering
In the past I've noticed the Indulging Patrician's check/trigger was automatically occurring before the lifegain trigger for Cosmos Elixir. I learned about turning off AutoOrdering for triggers in the Settings, which I did, hoping to take advantage of this synergy, finally. Now, the Patrician doesn't trigger AT ALL. I did this several times to be sure. I gain life during the turn from the Patrician's attack. Game moves to End of Turn, and now the Elixir AUTOMATICALLY triggers first, but it doesn't prompt me to choose, which it should. Then I see the “3” flash by on the Patrician as the turn ends, acknowledging that I did, in fact, gain 3 life on the turn. But the drain effect DOESN'T HAPPEN. Something here is broken. Please fix or explain it to me? Thanks very much!

Indulgent Patrician's ability has an intervening-if clause, essentially an extention of the trigger condition. And that clause has to be true at the time the ability would trigger, if it is not, no trigger. You CANNOT gain life in the end step to trigger the ability, the 3+ life has to be gained before the end step begins.
In the previous instances were you could order the triggers, you had already gained 3+ life that turn, and the Patricion's if-clause was true.
603.4. A triggered ability may read “When/Whenever/At [trigger event], if [condition], [effect].” When
the trigger event occurs, the ability checks whether the stated condition is true. The ability triggers
only if it is; otherwise it does nothing. If the ability triggers, it checks the stated condition again as it
resolves. If the condition isn’t true at that time, the ability is removed from the stack and does
nothing. Note that this mirrors the check for legal targets. This rule is referred to as the “intervening
‘if’ clause” rule. (The word “if” has only its normal English meaning anywhere else in the text of a
card; this rule only applies to an “if” that immediately follows a trigger condition.)
