Judith, Carnage Connoisseur
I have Judith, Carnage Connoisseur in play as my commander. I cast an instant and select deathtouch/lifelink ability but creatures don't die? I thought MAYBE I did something wrong so I tried again, making absolutely sure to select deathtouch/lifelink ability. Oddly enough the creature that also has deathtouch does not die AGAIN.

Did you have a Soul-Scar Mage on the field? Or a similar card that turns damage into something else? With no damage dealt due to such a replacement effect, deathtouch doesn't work, neither does lifelink.
