Chandra’s emblem vs valkmira
I had valkmira, protectors shield out and my opponent put a Chandra, awakened inferno emblem on me. I was still taking 1 damage at the beginning of my up keep. There were no cards in play that had “damage can’t be prevented”. Not sure if this is a bug or if emblems can get around protection

Not a bug. Valkmyra is simply not applicable.
"If a SOURCE AN OPPONENT CONTROLS would deal damage to you or a permanent you control, prevent 1 of that damage."
The source of damage is not controlled by your opponent but by you. YOU own the emblem, so YOU control the trigger.
