Bugs - Many Bugs - Mostly Visual Bugs
So your client with SOS + SOA update has been BUUUUUGY. Thic and prolific visual bugs. I assume some of these are/will/have been patched with 28 April 2026's update (released ~15h30 UTC update).
That said some of these bugs should be tested before updating and seeing if your devs cannot do some QA before release.
Outside of these visual bugs, we need to talk about the clock. The clock that has use cases but also fails at the job of moving the match along. (1) It is hard to know when someone leaves cause they are ****** at the game vs the client has hung up and they need to reboot to try to reconnect with the server. Maybe there could be a quick command to close the client+concede as a single action. Alt+F4 to close the client and ____ to close+concede.
(2) The other issue is when you are taking game actions and you dont have enough time, because of animations. The animations eat up your clock (like having 37 triggers that need to resolve and your remaining clock is <1 clocks). You could in paper get away with this no problem but the client burns your clock on 37 triggers. Then auto passes.... (a smart player with a combo knows to not concede but in paper, they should because they are dead on board).
(3) The less common but equally aggravating is when you have to be on the edge of time but it is less competitive and a player would tell you it is ok if you have a spell that effects their wincon (breaking up their combo). Then you should resolve that spell. I'll let you be a judge of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smxkGJXNIVU&t=1182s
In paper, I would ask my opponent, ‘I am about to combo, do you have anything that interacts with X or Y’. Giving them ALL the time to figure that their spell does or does not help. Are they engaged in the game and trying to learn? If so I want to support and foster that.
Than screaming “TIME!!” and then taking more game actions without their permission. (MTGA isn’t that friendly to new players. Even a more seasoned player like Mr Croke, they claim this combo is new to them. Possible. Probably why they are trying to figure out what matters the most.)
