Bug, card didn't trigger
I had Rackos joins up out, and my opponent destroyed my niv mizzet legendary creature with 2 +1/+1 counters on it and it didnt deal damage to my opponent. He did had a defender out that prevents all noncombat damage to creatures he controls, but it was supposed to deal damage to my opponent... ive uploaded some screenshot.

That defender also gives your opponent hexproof. So your trigger from Rakdos Joins Up cannot target any opponents and is removed from the stack right away for not being able to select a legal target.
