Cacophy Scamp was already in play. Played Scale Up then Berserk making Scamp 12/4. Then played Callous Sell-Sword which dealt 12 damage to opp. After the scamp was sacraficed it did not deal the 12 damage again or give the option to.

Your opponent had Leyline of the Void out. With that, your nontoken creatures simply do not die, they get exiled instead.
