sacrifice equipment
I stole an opponents creature with the red card that steals for one turn. The creature had the ability to sacrifice equipment for -4/-4 and he was equipped with an equipment owned by the opponent, I could not sacrifice the equipment. I could use the pay 2 life ability.

You can't sacrifice a permanent you don't control. You controlled the creature but not the equipment attached to it despite it staying attached.
