Mastery orbs do not give you cards, they give you card STYLES. The same was true for the daily deals until very recently. Now you have to pay extra attention in the daily deals on wether it is a card or a card style. The triangle in the lower left corner of the image, as well as the tooltip of the enlarged image, will tell you what it is, card or style.
