Guadian of new Benalia's indestructible ability allows it to survive -1/-1 counters @ 2/0. Shambling Ghast attacked, was blocked, & cheated.

No, you just don't understand that damage does not reduce toughness. Arena shows marked damage as a reduced toughness value but with a claw mark over it to indicate damage. That Guardian of New Benalia was a 1/1 with 1 damage marked. That is lethal damage, but not 0 or less toughness. Being indestructible lets it survive any damage so long as the toughness remains above 0.
