I have a great idea
What about working, testing and finally BALANCING black/swamp?
- It destroys enchantments
- It discards cards (infinite)
- It destroys everything
- It deals "half life points rounded up" damage
- It auto-reanimates
- It reveals hands
- And now, I just found a black deck that draws more cards than the best blue-draw deck on the internet.
ALL of that WITHOUT a single meaningful drawback.
- Discard and also discard a card to make sense? Why, right?
- Enchantment being the only thing that could compete with a T1 swamp deck? NOOOO, let's insert enchant removals, because otherwise quotist players couldn't get free games.
- Discard/reveal effectively having the same effect as "I have 2 turns compared to you, since my creature does everything I need PLUS removing uncasted spells from you, WITHOUT A SINGLE FKING drawback", why bothering, right ?
- I mean, why drawbacks on a card that does what any other color requires 3-5 cards to do the same, right?
- I mean, 2-3mv is "super balanced" to do everything, right? Why bothering creating an Eldrazy ramp when a 3mv will do everything you need.
Congratulations on creating this FKING easy game mode called swamp.
What about, now, allowing players that like to play fair to have at least one chance? I mean, the black/swamp is T1 since ever, just getting a competitor when there is a nonsense destroy-land or cheap-counterspell around.
What about wotc making sure something is not nonsense before releasing standard/bo1 unplayable-against cards? I'd be very happy.
I'd expect AT LEAST:
- "Commander card : target opponent discards..."
- "Pay a card, exile it : target opponent discards a card"
- "Pay 5 life: reveal opponent's hand and select one to be discarded"
