Killian Spotlight chaser ability
I've been trying Killian, Spotlight chaser as a commander and his ability is not triggering as intended. Since the seeked card is discarded at my end step. Ive tried using cards like Faith of the devoted (Whenever you discard a card you may pay 1 and deal 2 damage to opponent). What Classifies as non-combat damage and should trigger his ability again seeking another card for me, although after the damage nothing happens.

Blood Artist and Faith of the Devoted do not deal damage, they cause loss of life directly without damage. Those cards cannot work with Killian.

Not only this but when a ability that deals damage to the opponent triggers on the opponent's turn it does not seek as well, like when a creature I control dies and I have blood artist, wich deals 1 damage to the opponent, if it happens on the opponents turn Killian's ability does not trigger
