    Yes. It's a bug. "All abilities" means exactly that. Also, Kudo's rule text is all one sentence; no layering is involved.

    No. There's only one "layer" in Kudo's rule text. It's all the same static ability. Hitting it with anything that removes all abilities shuts that down.

    This would be a fine explanation if we were dealing with actual global effects (ex. day becomes night). However, that's not how the text of this card reads. It's a static ability of the card. So, yes it should be shut down by anything that removes all abilities.

    This happened to me in an MH3 quick draft (log attached), just now.
    I'm fairly certain it happened a few days ago in an Eldrain quick draft, as well.

    Then why doesn't it work that way in paper?
    "In response to ETB, I'm going to blow it up" is a sentence uttered at least once in every EDH, FNM, or Grand Prix match I've ever played or watched. This includes instances where the judge was actively watching.

    Yeah, this still happens, and I'm confused for the same reason. The other commenter was correct that lands are colorless (and that's probably what the game is doing to decide that result). But the ability costs white. It's a white source and should fizzle out.

    If I have to stop and second-guess the AI's decision, then go tap manually, it's not a time saver. In fact, I just burned more time than if I'd manually tapped at the start.

    I will give the devs some credit that, at least when the feature is turned off, the mechanic is switched to an auto-pay button for the late game turns where it doesn't matter does save time.

    But, most people play with it turned on, which opens them to the bad habit of just going with whatever the AI decides and regretting it later. Or (in my case) getting rushed into that poor decision and letting it happen accidentally. Both of these are detrimental, not just to the individual player but to the general health of the game.
