Error Updating Data
The game is stuck on startup.
It says : "Error Updating Data - Please check your connection and try again".
Obviously my connection work just fine. I think this is a bug.

glad to see i'm not the only one - shocked to see this is not resolved after 1 day as i imagine we can be 1000s if not more. hope the goblins will compensate us for this poor performance.
PS the "stuck in a match" can be an option. i've tried to launch a game before realizing the server was under maintenance and not connecting. just this is something that happened to me other times, as i had an older version of the cliente, the match did not start. update, access again and no issues. this time is different... let's see how long it'll take to fix

I have the same error on android. I've restarted phone, done all updates and even reinstalled the mtg arena app and I get the same message. Been the same since Khans released

I believe we are all stuck in a match, as it seems to be loading a previous match that maybe went defective.
I've tried this at work on the laptop. I've tried at home on the desktop. I've tried on the mobile phone. They all have the same results, which leads me to believe that we are stuck in a match or not logged out of the system.

Has anyone found any solutions? Internet says sometimes this happens when a file from an older version is left around. Maybe something in the last update left an old file around? Has anyone located such a file?
Also, what is everyone's OS? I play through the Epic Games launcher on Mac OS.

Same here, cant play MTGArena on Mobile or PC since the last update. Reinstalling does not help. Maybe fix the game before adding more ways to spend money on it.

Khans patch made it impossible for me to even load the game. I am stuck on an error updating data. I even deleted the game and reinstalled it and I am still unable to access the game.

Been locked out with this error message since the ktk update yesterday. Just hoping wizards actually acknowledges this and shows that the game is down instead of acting like everything is fine and dandy

After the Khans of Tarkir update was installed on my iPad (IOS) i attempted to login and play, but the game will no longer load. I keep getting an error message “Error updating data.” I uninstalled the game and downloaded the game again, attempted to login but I’m getting the same message. I have 1GB network speeds on all my other devices and applications (including my ipad) so I am not having connection issues with connectivity. This update has absolutely locked me out of the game. Please fix this. Thanks!

Same issue here. In the logs I found a start hook internal error response message logged. This is appears to be a server side issue.
