Error Updating Data
The game is stuck on startup.
It says : "Error Updating Data - Please check your connection and try again".
Obviously my connection work just fine. I think this is a bug.

Two days now completely unable to play the game on any platform or device. "error updating data." Re-installs don't help. Disabling firewalls doesn't help. My connection is fine. But I'm locked out since Khans update.

This issue has been ongoing for over 24hrs. I've uninstalled and re-downloaded 3 times and restarted my phone just to see if anything helps. How come a multi-billion dollar corporation breaks one of their premier money-making apps every time it updates? Laying off hundreds of WotC employees the day of the update probably didn't help either.

I believe we are all stuck in a match, as it seems to be loading a previous match that maybe went defective.
I've tried this at work on the laptop. I've tried at home on the desktop. I've tried on the mobile phone. They all have the same results, which leads me to believe that we are stuck in a match or not logged out of the system.

Same issue, tired every device type and different networks. Clearly an issue after the update as it only appeared after this, friends can play while i cant.. Get a QA team this is a joke. Second time in as many months with critical issues. Last one was being unable to play friends and locking up the app when the challenge was accepted for me and my friend... Regardless please fix being able to login to your game

glad to see i'm not the only one - shocked to see this is not resolved after 1 day as i imagine we can be 1000s if not more. hope the goblins will compensate us for this poor performance.
PS the "stuck in a match" can be an option. i've tried to launch a game before realizing the server was under maintenance and not connecting. just this is something that happened to me other times, as i had an older version of the cliente, the match did not start. update, access again and no issues. this time is different... let's see how long it'll take to fix

I have the same error on android. I've restarted phone, done all updates and even reinstalled the mtg arena app and I get the same message. Been the same since Khans released

Has anyone found any solutions? Internet says sometimes this happens when a file from an older version is left around. Maybe something in the last update left an old file around? Has anyone located such a file?
Also, what is everyone's OS? I play through the Epic Games launcher on Mac OS.

Every time I try to start the game I keep getting an error updating data and have no idea. My connection is good. But for some reason it’s stuck on that on my iPhone and my pc
