Casual Play Space
MTG Arena currently has a very, very, very, very, very competitive meta.
Maybe I need an extra very for emphasis there.
I'm a very casual player and my win rate is maybe 1 game in 20. I know I'm probably stupid, and I shouldn't play.
But, there's a reason that meta is so competitive. Every game, even the unranked ones, contribute to your play rewards. 15 wins a day is basically impossible for all but the top players, so people are forced to play the same 6 decks that get consistent wins in the current meta.
This makes the Standard deck pool very small and boring, and doesn't replicate at all the fun experience of playing in real life with your friends. It doesn't help that there are no rewards for playing against a friend.
Okay, so here's the simple fix:
Just have somewhere to play - call it the Casual Room - where the WINS DON'T COUNT.
At this point I don't even care about getting wins, I just want to try and some decks out and not get immediately milled out by rogues or have my hand and creatures decimated by finely tuned black control decks.
Would be nice to get a win once in a while too.

Many people have requested a less competitive mode of play to avoid many of the top tier decks. I have an idea that can be used for both Historic and Standard play modes. It is to add a play que for Standard and Historic that includes the following restrictions: You can only have 1 copy of a mythic rare card, You can only have 2 copies of a rare card, you can only have 3 copies of an uncommon card, and you can have 4 copies of common cards.
That is how Magic Origins was set up and that was a much less competitive form of Magic to play compared to Arena. This would greatly hamper most top tier decks as most of them run 4 copies of mythic rare and rare cards. It would be a great place for newer players to learn to play magic without getting stomped by more experienced players like in the regular play que now.
I think Arena could greatly benefit by having a casual mode where you would not have to ban any additional cards in that mode of play. With the restrictions of rarity card limits it naturally nerfs most of the top decks and would encourage people to try out cards they might not otherwise to fill up their deck.

Alternately, fix the match-making, so casual players have a chance
