Lumovanis#92496 there are so many new players that NEED the benefit of the algorithms to win, they are the ones going first more often than not. It gives them a false sense of accomplishment, and keeps them in the game longer. (Hasbro has doubled down on the fact that they think they make more money off clueless newbie whales while lobbing up veterans as sacrifice, as opposed to providing a good, fair experience for everyone and reaping the long term profits wizards has been taking for years from us, but I digress. Hasbro wants that money now.) The people who have no problems winning without the algorithms are the folks who are constantly getting screwed by it. The worst part is, the noobs who are getting propped up by it, can't tell its even happening and will even straight up deny it meanwhile veterans see it clear as day because we know how Magic has worked for years before arena was ever a thing.

Except for it’s not a randomized algorithm they’re promoting cards they want everyone to buy all the new cards and copy paste the latest net deck if you copy paste the latest “championship deck” you will get perfect land draw and curve, make your own deck and watch out… They can’t have someone making their own deck climbing the ladder

There is absolutely no reason a person with a deck size of 200+ should ever draw more consistently then a player with a deck of 60. this isn't an isolated incident, and the games shuffling is even more atrocious when it comes to lands or multicolor decks of any kind. a player shouldnt have to consistently mulligan 1-3 times just to get a decent hand.

Deleted the app for a few weeks. And it felt really good. Then Brothers War dropped. I'm a huge fan of artifact sets so I reinstalled.

What was I met with? The SAME EXACT BS that has caused me and literally every single magic player I k owing to delete this app. BLATANT MANIPULATION.

I've played five games since reinstalling the app. Historic Brawl. All five games, needlethorn drake in the opening hand. All five games, opponent hit perfect curve with perfect interaction and won with a top deck. These types of games happen, if you're lucky, once a year. But in arena, it's every day.

When will you realize that your dedicated players will keep you alive, not the whales who will swim away after you've used them up?

Can we get a Vintage-like mode where all cards in MTG Arena are legal, maybe the Vintage restricted list for some balance. Most importantly, NO RIGGING!!! Make the match making, draws, seeks, conjures, etc 100% cryptographically random, NO ALGORITHMS.

you need to update or at the very least rebalance the RNG for the entire game. When you play multiple games in a row if you win more than one in a row you suddenly start getting multiple games in a row where you are mana starved (despite deck being 50% lands going entire matches without drawing a single land after initial draw) or mana bloated (going entire games where you get nothing but lands after initial draw) once or two times in a row is understandable but going 4-5 games in a row like this is RNG issue. Although i am loathe to make accusations it sure seems to be intentional balancing of win/loss ratios (ie. win 3 in a row and suddenly next 3 are completely unwinnable due to draw issues)

give us option to reshuffle deck at the start of match before initial draw or you know get a better RNG

I hate these idiots. They dont care about the players they are so terrible bc no matter how many times you prove their arena app is rigged and a proven cheating pos they only want ur money. Shuffler sux and matchmaking is rigged to games u will NEVERRRRRR FKN WIN. Wotc u should be sued for unethical and being a bias company who feeds games towards streamers or new players.

The shuffler is terrible and Matchmaking is awful. I get forced losses every time I play the game and I spent time and effort building an advanced and powerful combo deck, only to draw 7 lands in a row (all mountains) at a 0.001% probability of that occurring. Wizards intentionally forces losses in their matchmaking despite money and time spent in the game, and they favor newer players over older ones. I am currently stuck in bronze (former diamond) because I keep matching against newbies and getting forced losses. This is against Wizard's stated "wishes" in the TOS, where they state that they wish to keep the game fair. The matchmaking is a problem and needs to be fixed. Wizards is intentionally promoting new players to increase revenue, and I believe that this is unjust and unfair to older players who earned their accounts and cards.

This game is utterly rigged. I have made it to mythic multiple times and it's horrible because you force losing streaks. How the **** does the same deck have issues with too much and too little mana on a consistent basis. Why do I see 2-3 different decks. Why the **** do I see 4/4 of multiple cards in my opponents deck every game. Why does the game constantly crash, have sound bugs, and cost so much ******* money.

You have ruined one of my favorite games. Which is impressive because I've endured a ton of bs over the past 20+ years. Uninstalled this dog **** game. Hasbruh ************.

I stopped playing a couple weeks ago. The shuffler rigging is hard to say for sure but it feels like rigged, however the play/draw is blatant. It can’t be statistically off for so many people, and it clearly is not pure random. You don’t get 10x coin flips heads so consistently for so many people.

Best case scenario it’s a bug. Worst case it’s manipulation. Either way I’m not coming back until WOTC decisively confirms it isn’t rigged, with credible evidence and explanation.

Wow... This post is almost exactly one year old and the BS hand smoothing problem persists... I just lost a match because the BS smoothing algorithm decided that giving three copies of Invoke Despair instead the fifth land I needed to play them was the better option.

My oponnent was literally on deaths door. All I needed was ONE LAND, but I just kept drawing every other card in my deck despite having a 45% chance to draw a basic swamp...

I don't understand this garbage mechanic and sincerely wish they'd remove it already. Or, like the OP suggests, give us the option of turning it off for BO1, because seriously... Loosing a match because of not drawing a single basic land is outrageous!

This. Among feedbacks complaining about matchmaking, this is what I wanted to report. It's really really annoying. This is not the same as complaining about opponents playing top8 decks, it's just that this algorithm you implemented to pair opponents by taking deck content into account is very frustrating. Playing a different deck and facing the other face of the world you never met before in 100 games with other decks is incredibly annoying. Try to play your game: this matchmaking system makes no sense. I don't know how you came to this solution, but as players, we have the impression to be cheated every game we play.
Please do something (I don't know why I have that terrible feeling that you'll never even read this).

i've reached a milestone of going second more than 250 times than i've gone first. that means someone out there has gone first more than 500 times than i have. if going first is determined by how much money you've spent in-game, what else is determined by how much you spend?
