Alchemy
Alchemy as an "alternate Standard" is a fun idea that I don't mind -- while I like Standard, being able to switch back and forth between Standard and Alchemy without too much hassle (and getting to play a new format with most of the same cards if Standard is stale) is great. But I am super unhappy about the rebalanced cards being the versions legal in Historic and Historic Brawl. This deeply harms the point of a non-rotating format and from a consumer perspective feels like a way to give out fewer wildcards from bans. I don't see any good reason to tie Historic and Historic Brawl to Alchemy, and will not be buying any Alchemy cards unless you revert this change.

Opt out of Alchemy. Don't let opponents play the broken, paypig baiting cards against you because you probably don't run them either unless you are ****** sweatlord suckling and apologizing at Arena's ***.

This is a critical issue that many players are dealing with! We spent our time and hard earned money to create Standard and Historic decks just to see them be horribly degraded by all the broken cards and mechanics of Alchemy. At the very least get Alchemy out of Historic! I will not spend another dime on this product until there's actually a separation where I can que into a game of Historic that does not include the usage of Alchemy cards. Wizards, how can you even begin to justify these as two different game modes (one as Alchemy and one as Historic), and then completely ignore the differences in your game code to allow players to use any and all Alchemy cards within the Historic game mode, ranked or otherwise? Separate the game modes as you have expressively intended from the beginning or risk losing your whale, og Magic customers; the choice is yours.

Alchemy ruined the game, good thing it released a few days before i finally decided myself to put money in the game, was debating but it reverted my choice pretty easily... i guess maybe some day they will listen and let us play magic in arena (prolly not seem like after more then half a year it's still the same)...until then...it's fun a fun time realising i had other game i could play.

It isn't very honest of Wizards. People have spent resources to get cards that can be played in Historic and Historic Brawl and have now potentially had some of their cards altered. In some cases this can make decks less playable and so wildcards should be given to replace all downgraded cards.

Completely agree . Why are they creating new garbage to mess with the only format that anybody cares about ? As a commander player with no real mobile option to play commander I'm stuck but fixing to walk away from this . The conjure mechanic is broken ( I know cuz I've won games I shouldn't have because of it ) and now I can't edit my decks because of this alchemy **** .

Alchemy is a horrible idea, even at face value, no further explanation needed… just get rid of it. At the very least, make the cards illegal in Historic. It was bad enough to have cards in the base set that weren’t “real” cards, but now it sounds like you’re going to be creating those constantly, and randomly changing the card text… fun… so now Arena really isn’t Magic is it? I guess it was fun while it lasted…
You had one job!

Re-balancing cards is a bad idea. I don't want established cards to change. Now I have no confidence in crafting anything or in any permanence towards future deck plans. I also liked several of the cards they destroyed, and now it just leaves a discontented feeling when seeing them.
It's not the end of the world of course, this is only a game. However I'm not motivated to spend any more money on gems now.

I've been playing since the alpha of Arena and I'm ready to quit playing Arena.
Historic doesn't need NON HISTORIC cards. (See what I did there? No digital-only concoctions in the HISTORIC format! Only real cards that existed HISTORICALLY.)

I agree with the sentiment of appreciation for the two formats (standard and alchemy) being separate, and I also agree with the frustration of how the Historic format has been treated. totally disrespectful how the company has made the format "to use your cards from the past sets" into legacy lite and incorporated digital only cards that outclass all the cards from the last sets without any warning that this would be how MTGA is run.
not to mention cards like Sign in Blood and Faithless Looting which are commons that simply outclass the volume of the historic format gameplay are printed at rare because of this. or the ways in which they've seemingly tried to avoid giving wildcards more recently.. suspicious nuisance.

I am uninstalling all all platforms until the following two decisions are undone: Not refunding wildcards for nerfed Alchemy cards (a practice Hearthstone has done for years), and not having Alchemy nerfs effect Historic. You lost another paying customer over greed and mismanagement, WOTC. I am not willing to play Historic with these decision in place. I play Historic because it is a Non-Rotating format. Spending wildcards is no longer safe in Historic because of these decisions. You are making cards we spent wildcards on unplayable in Historic due to setting them to an appropriate power level for Alchemy i.e. Standard (not Historic) with not compensation for sunk cos
