March of Swirling Mist/Lier, Disciple of the Drowned bug
The card March of Swirling Mist reads:
“As an additional cost to cast this spell, you may exile any number of blue cards from your hand. This spell costs {2} less for each card exiled this way.
Up to X creatures phase out.”
Lier, Disciple of the Drowned gives all instant and sorcery cards in its controller’s graveyard flashback, with the flashback cost equal to the spell’s mana cost.
My opponent in this game cast March of Swirling Mist with two lands untapped and one other card in hand. He tapped one for blue, one for generic, then paid an additional 8 by exiling 4 blue cards… that weren’t in his hand. The cards were in his graveyard, but he was allowed to “exile” them from his “hand” because of Lier making them castable from the graveyard and the cards being displayed as part of his hand. The result was his March of Swirling Mist targeting 9 creatures — his three, and six of mine — and the 4 blue cards he “exiled” from his “hand” instead stayed in his graveyard rather than being exiled.
My opponent made this play twice in the game. This is clearly an exploit of an in-game bug, used intentionally and knowingly to cheat. It needs to be fixed immediately.
