MATCH MAKING IS RUINING THE GAME!
When my friends and I are put into matches we see the following trends in our starting hands and within in the first 4 draws of almost every match:
We get 0-1 creatures - When playing against White, Black, or Red
We get 0-1 Exile or Destroy - When playing against White, Blue, or Green
We get 0-2 Mana - When playing against Red, Green, or White
Only 4+ mana cost creatures - When playing against Red and Black.
I convinced 9 friends into starting MTG Arena. Out of all the people who started with me only 1 is still playing.
The reason everyone is quitting is because they get pigeon-holed into playing the same types of decks with the same cards over and over. Outside of a couple outlier matches here and there, I personally only ever play specifically against White soldier, Black or Red rush-kill, or Blue counter decks anymore with my White/Blue soldier deck.
The other issue is when a player only gets 2 mana and you think your good but, then only after the 4th draw or more do you get any additional mana. I played 8 games in a row one time and this happened 5 times. my average is about 1 in 4 to 1 in 5 matches this happens.
When you realize the mechanics are stacked against you it makes you want to quit. Personally, I have come to realized that MTGA will not let you win a 4th match in a row. It's not because they put you with a better player who has a better deck; It's because you're only given 2 mana for the first 4 turns, no creatures, or no control spells. This is why all my friends have quit. I'm growing tired of it myself. Nobody wants to lose 5 games in a row to mechanics especially in ranked matches.
One suggestion would be to PROVIDE PLAYERS A NO MATCH MAKING OPTION to select where MTGA only matches you base off of something like percentage of wins you have. Then make the card draws 100% random where they have nothing to do with the other player's hand.
This could be a simple fix. I would much rather lose 5 games in a row to someone who is a better player with a better deck than to lose to someone because MTG Arena Mechanics says I have to.
