Make qualifier play-in less swingy
Hello,
I play the BO3 qualifier play-ins, and I feel the "1 loss = out" rule makes the variance way too high. It's incredibly frustrating to pay 4k gold, then just play one match and be out if you faced a bad match-up.
I understand that we don't want too many people to qualify for the qualifier week-end, that's true. But you could find a middle ground, e.g. needing 5/0 to qualify but still be able to play 5 games regardless of results, like in Traditional draft! That would be really nice, and it would allow people to be less frustrated, and try to recoup some gem if they actually are good and manage to go 4/1 in the end, even if they don't qualify.
I feel like it's discouraging play for the not-ultra-rich players currently; especially in formats where the variance is already high like sealed (or historic today, with its very high variance decks like Ketis combo and Mono Green Leyline). Only streamers can throw 4k gems for 1 game and not be really annoyed; whereas competitive events should reward consistency and having an edge, not be slot machines (the best proof of this is the price pool in pro events: it's really spread out, to reward every player good enough to win more than half their matches; it doesn't give all the price to the 1st place).
