You cannot pay with life when casting "Bitter Triumph"
When I cast Bitter Triumph, I either discard a card or pay 3 life as an additional cost to cast the spell. However, depending on the timing, you may not be able to pay life even if you have life, and you can only choose to discard cards.

Card bugged-out yet again at a crucial game moment which lost me the match. I was unable to pay for its cost by discarding a card and couldn't pay for 3 life 'cuz I only had 3 life left.
WoTC remove this card from active play until this bug is fixed!!
Remove ALL bugged cards from active play until they are fixed!
Reading the card should explain the card. Players depend on consistent performance. No active card should have bugs--period. It's software so it WILL have bugs. That's fine. What's not fine is having consistent bugs with the same card and having that card available in active play.
Even IF there's some stochastic issue, take a conservative approach rather than leave these issues to chance. There's already enough chance in the game itself. I'm sure the players would prefer, even at the high end, 10-15% less cards to play with if ALL of those cards were dependable.
As it stands, just as with March of Swirling Mist, now I must excise this card from all my decks due to its bugged nature.

Just had Bitter Triumph bug-out when first casting it on my turn. I was unable to choose "discard" and had to pay life to cast it. Fix this card or remove it from active play. It's been bugged for at least the past 2 releases.
Per earlier in this thread, I'm on Mac. No special setup is required and as you can tell by the screenshot, it's early-game. This is my first attempt to case the spell this game and, unlike previous bug reports, this was on my turn.
WoTC needs to remove ALL bugged cards from active play--yes even IF the bugs only occur on one platform.

I just had the card bug-out again. On an opponent's turn I was unable to pay 3 life and was forced to discard my last remaining card (Silver Scrutiny--a card draw spell) to cast this spell.
This game was, otherwise, normal in every fashion. So far, I've only experienced this bug when first attempting to cast the spell on my opponent's turn.
The cards (all of 4 them in my deck) suddenly become "locked" into either one of the alternative casting options and I no longer see the "choice" dialog for choosing which cost I'd like to utilize regardless of the game-state. In certain scenarios, this results in the complete inability to cast the spell though I have the mana, cards-in-hand, and/or life to do so.
I am running the game client on a Mac (OSX Monterey v12.0.1). I have only experienced this bug since past 2 most recent updates.
As posted earlier in this thread, there's a similar bug with March of Swirling Mist where the alternative casting cost dialog suddenly disappears and never re-appears during the remainder of the game.

I'm wondering if the same core bug that plagues Bitter Triumph are the same issues with March of Swirling Mist.
Both cards have alternative cost dialogs that are failing to reliably trigger. In the case of March of Swirling Mist, this results in the entire spell fizzling. At least with Bitter Triumph, the spell still takes effect.

I'm on Mac and have had the same issue. At certain points, I believe if you've ever attempted to cast it on your opponents turn, you're suddenly "locked out" of the "choice" option and it either forces you to lose life or discard--it seems to randomly pick-and-stick with one.
I have yet to determine what the exact circumstances are that trigger this bug, but I've encountered it only with the most recent 2 updates.
