The Leylines - Fragment Reality - Geist of Saint Traft deck is utterly broken in the historic setup. There is absolutely no interaction. Remember, half the time they will go first and have geist out there before you played your first land, rendering half the encounters non-games.

There is zero choices involved besides praying you won the proverbial coin flip to go first and hard mulliganing for answers which oftentimes you had to put in your deck to begin with gimping your deck against others.

The most obvious offender and easiest to fix is Fragment Reality. Positive side effect is that it would hit this „one card first turn combo“ deck as well as Azorius control, the two most unfun and overrepresented decks in historic atm. For what it‘s worth, I hate alchemy cards as they tend to be stupidly overtuned by a design team that‘s already way overburdened. But here, you can finally use the fact it‘s a digital only card and fix it.

Any suggestion is as good as mine but having it pull the same card type would stop the stupid and certainly unintended by the devs combo. Another idea could be making it only target opponents‘ cards or making it 2 mana which would hit Azorius too and at least give players one turn to have one mana to interact with the combo deck.

Or - and I would prefer that option - stop shoving these unbalanced stupid Alchemy cards down our throats. Nobody wants them to begin with.
