Inexplicable crashing on iPad after MKM update
After recent MKM update the game is crashing on iOS (iPad) without specific triggers. It seems to only happen in-game.

+1 to everything others have said. Game is unplayable crashing 90% of the time on ipad. Works fine on iPhone. This started after mkm release.

I got a reply to my earlier comment from Wotc to try these steps (same standard mobile device troubleshooting article thanks been up for quite a while, and which I had tried most of before bothering to post here - clearly they’re taking this new, fatal crash bug, clearly introduced by their backend update, veeeeery seriously…)
If your game is having some performance issues, such as crashing, freezing, or trouble starting:
Make sure you're playing on a supported device - yes, 3rd Gen iPad Air
Make sure you have the latest update for the app - yes
Check your device's internet connection: toggle WIFI off/on - tried it
Turn the device off and back on - multiple reboots
Force close other applications that may be running in the background - only app running
Uninstall and reinstall the app - done
Make sure that you are on the most recent operating system for your device - yes, 17.3.1So, now that’ve I’ve spent hours troubleshooting your game for you, could you please fix the backend so it works?
Btw, I’m writing this while waiting for a game timer to end on a game I can’t enter, so I can try to play a few ranked games to make up for the loss. Pretty annoying.

I have been getting multiple daily pre-match crashes on iPad since this update, for what it’s worth. I don’t know if I’ve had any crashes within a game during this limited time. Regardless, the iPad performance is currently below what I would judge to be a shippable product.

Having the same problem. iOS, iPhone 13 and iPad 9th Gen.
If it crashes on a device you cannot reenter the game on that device. But, you can log in on another device or PC. Works fine after that game ends.

I've been experiencing the same - crashes in ranked BO1 Alchemy for sure. I believe B01 ranked standard as well. Other play queues have been stable - Brawl, Historic Brawl, Sealed MKM, Mid-week Magic. I managed to transfer my last game to my PC, and it picked up fine there, but it had crashed the App on my ipad 3 or 4 times before I made it to my PC. It finally loaded into the 2nd turn of the game. Always shows the "Ready" screen and crashes as it fades down to black ahead of showing the playing field. Have tried power-cycling in between. Its really frustrating that it's happening on ranked games. Its made it really hard to make the next level since I primarily play on my iPad and rarely have access to my PC when I am playing.

Nathanial described this perfectly. Some games will constantly crash. If you can restart fast enough and get back to the game it will crash again. Over and over. I wish I hadn’t bought a season pass because this is making it impossible to complete dailies. I can’t believe this made it past app review. What a joke.

To whom ever the admin was that sent me an email - the new patch did not fix this and the technical FAQ did nothing. This seems like a server bug. It only triggers on certain games otherwise it runs fine. When I connect to a specific match the game crashes without error coding inexplicably normally within seconds of finding a match over and over again. This only occurred AFTER the MKM patch from a couple weeks ago.

How is this not affecting more people? Is it a specific server issue? Some matches seem fine but every other game or so it’s completely unplayable. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled MTGA, checked wireless connection, updates iOS.. what’s going on?

After most recent update, game consistently crashes while queueing for matches on iPad. Happens most often during BO1 Ranked, but I have experienced it in all formats since the update.
