Chevill, Bane of Monsters triggers improperly
Chevill, Bane of Monsters states that when a creature/planeswalker an opponent controls with a specific kind of counter on it dies, trigger this event.
His trigger is going off before the target actually dies.
Example:
I have a creature with the counter. My opponent casts a spell, targeting my creature, which will kill that creature. But, as soon as the spell is cast, the trigger for when the creatures dies is added to the stack. This is incorrect, even when I do not have a response. The permanent needs to hit the graveyard before his trigger can be added to the stack.
I understand if the game is taking shortcuts in the event that I did not have a response. But, with how magic is supposed to work, this interaction is not correct. Log included in case it helps.
