Error Updating Data PC and Mobile
After the new update for MKM Alchemy on both my PC and mobile app I get the "Error Updating Data" message when trying to launch Arena. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times (PC and mobile) including manually deleting the files on PC, switched between wifi and cell data and tried multiple different connections (mobile), run corrupt file search/cleanup (PC), and tried installing through Epic Games Launcher (PC) and I have had no luck. MTGA Status page says everything is fine, but I don't know that there is anything else I can do on my end to fix the issue.
Update - My girlfriends mobile app was working for her account and successfully completed the recent update. Since I knew her update had worked with no corrupt files, I logged her out and tried to log in and was met with the same error message, so it has to somehow be linked to my account.

Also would like to note that I did run into the "event deck bug" right before this happened, where it locked me out of playing the event.

Here's where it gets even weirder, my girlfriend can login to her account under the same conditions, but when I tried my account on her computer, it locked her computer out... What is going on???

Didn't realize the first report of this issue I voted on yesterday was originally from 2020. Good to see that this issue has happened regularly for 4 years.
Would be nice to see it acknowledged in some fashion (and reimbursement provided) but I guess it doesn't impact enough people each update. Good for fiscal responsibility though - not sure I'm comfortable throwing away any more money if every update is actually Russian Roulette.
Maybe next update will break it for everyone and they will have to address whatever sloppy code has been the real culprit for years.

I'm in this boat. Think we may drown..
I also had the mkm event bug. I was only able to play one of the decks and just until the rewards were received. Event had said I could keep playing and swap decks as much as I like, but I didn't think anything of it until @TheKMitch pointed me down the reddithole. No solutions though:(

yep same happened to me, i think it has something to do with the new alchemy cards, because i updated the game and opened some packs, a little later i went to open the game once again and received this message, super annoying. it also happened to my mobile, is indeed linked to the accounts in special, i was very excited to play some challenges but they absolutely broke my vibe.

Fukin **** .....this means I have to pay attention to reality now? Oh man....they better fix this fast.....this is dangerous.....to lots of people. I'm having this issue and cannot find any solution anywhere. Just rumors about brawl decks causing issues. Which makes sense since I had no problems until I made a few brawl decks and a new patch hit.

I wouldn’t take years off my life troubleshooting this issue because it is entirely up to Wizards to fix this issue themselves. This problem happens to specific accounts each major update with days, weeks, or months to take to fix. Do a little internet search for yourself, search for “error updating data” mtg arena… it’s is a reoccurring issue going back at least 4 years. Every time this happens Wizards quietly releases a back-end fix but they do not consider accessibility a priority for these accounts. Some effected accounts have been locked out for the entire time between releases. Basically all you can do is wait and accept that fact that others are happily playing the starter decks, drafting, busting open new packs on Arena…but you specifically can’t!
I encourage everyone experiencing this issue to do a quick search and look at the dates of the posts. It is a reoccurring issue they don’t know how to prevent! Bonus: don’t expect any compensation for missed dailies and events because WOTC doesn’t care in the slightest.
