The best workaround is for your opponent to concede once the loop is demonstrated. To that end, I have been modifying my infinite combo decks to focus on frustrating my opponents rather than winning.
Combos which waste time and prevent your opponents from playing are more competitively viable than combos which result in winning the game directly, because they're more likely to make your opponent concede.
