MTGA Crash on M1 Mac by Cancelling Cast of Rubblebelt Maverick from Graveyard
Platform
OS: MacOS Sonoma 14.5 (23F79)
Configuration: 14inch M1 Max 2021, 64GB
MTGA version: Unknown, whatever was live at timestamp Sunday, Jul 28 3:40AM EST
What happened
I was playing a ranked match on Ladder, had reached a delicate board state and kind of panicked. I began to cast Rubblebelt Maverick from graveyard by clicking it. I realized the tap solution involved tapping a creature, and hit cancel. On hitting Cancel the board got into an invalid state where the card was returned to the spot in the hand where it belongs (not casting) but the UI still showed the ability in the stack area with the arrow pointing to it, and the UI text "Choose a creature" as if I still needed to make a choice. The UI then completely froze, doing a mac "beachball" so I had to forcequit the app.
Game froze, couldn't continue my Ranked Match on Mac. Even after force-quit MTGA and restarting, the game froze at "READY!" while reconnecting on my mac. I would have forefit due to client crash, if I hadn't had my iPad handy to reconnect on. I was able to reconnect to the match and complete it from my iPad.
What should have happened
Card cast should have been canceled, board state should have been like it was when I reconnected using my iPad. App should not have crashed at "READY!" while reconnecting, and connected normally.
Repro Steps
I was unable to get a screenshot of the bugged state because I panicked and was trying to reconnect. I don't know if Customer Support can see game history, but it was the game I played on this account that ended at approximately Sunday Jul 28 3:40AM EST, the turn was one of the very last turns in the game, I believe it was about three from lethal.
