100% the algo is rigged to prevent inexperienced players from leaving the game during fair random shuffles. Not giving another dime until it's fixed.

This shuffling algorithm is broken and no one can tell me otherwise. Not spending anymore money on this game until it's truly representing a random shuffle. I get that you don't want to discourage new players but this is ridiculous.

Hand smoothing in BO1 is absolutely still a thing and I have no idea why we're still using it 4 years later.

They really need to fix the shuffler. I'm tired of seeing the game rigged in favor of aggro even in best of three. They also need to ban something like 95% of the creatures because they have been powercrept well beyond what any sort of interaction can handle.

These worthless trash piles couldn't fix a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They can't even make fair cards let alone a fair shuffler. I hope they all get fired and lose their jobs and die in the streets impoverished.

La plupart des deck avec des stratégie au delà de 3 tours vont être bannis pour laisser la place à du deck aggro avec des synergies à 2 tours pour débiles mentaux, rien qu'avec l'extension Final Fantaisi, on peut bien voir tous les demeurés qui ont laché des dollars pour jouer des oiseaux.

HASBRO est en train de dénaturer l'ecence même de ce jeux pour en faire une pompe à fric pour frustés de l'existence, mais hélas plus de 80% des utilisateurs de cette version en ligne de ce jeux sont des pauvres geek prêt à donner leurs argent en s'imaginant savoir jouer et construire un deck alors qu'ils sont incapable d'avoir du recul sur le déroulement d'une partie ni de se rendre compte que la jeux leurs sort les cartes sans qu'ils est à réflechir.

è l'ennesima volta che scrivo su questo blog per segnalare un problema nello shuffler e sono così stanco di farlo che questa volta lo scrivo in italiano perché non ho più voglia di tradurlo, tanto non verrebbe letto lo stesso. L'ho anche fatto notare più volte aprendo direttamente un ticket con Wizard, ma nessuno pare interessarsi alla cosa e ci si nasconde dietro mail preconfezionate.
Riprovo, anche se ormai non ho più fiducia né nell'azienda, né negli sviluppatori, che mostrano grande disinteresse nell'esperienza di gioco degli utenti.
Come è possibile che nella maggior parte delle partite io peschi 10 terre nelle prima venti carte pur avendone soltanto 20 nel mazzo? Un'altra cosa che succede sempre è che quando nella partita precedente c'è stato un flood, nella successiva c'è uno *****, e viceversa. COme si può fare affidamento su un shuffler di questo genere? Come potete pensare che tutto ciò favorisca un ambiente di gioco amichevole? è evidente che qualcosa non funziona nella vostra programmazione e dovete risolverlo.

Ya know, this is starting to get old, getting matched up with single numbered rank players on top of that trying to make the right plays and then getting flooded cause shuffler is rigged AS ****. Yall seriously need to fix your stupid *** system cause this is infuriating. Can’t even have fun cause it’s bad match ups after bad match ups. It’s upsetting.

Not spending time or money on this broken game when the shuffle algorithm is an absolute joke.

I humbly suggest someone actually do something about the **** poor shuffling that does, or I should say, Does Not occur. Came back to the game after being away for years, just to realize in a matter of 10 games that absolutely nothing has been done about the shuffle. I will not spend one more dime or one more minute playing a broken game. I’ll check back in another year or two. Have a nice day.

I’ve played Magic: The Gathering for 18 years. I’ve put in thousands of hours and spent more money than I want to admit. Arena is the only way I can play now, and it feels like Wizards is using that against us.

Let’s just be honest. MTG Arena isn’t built to reward skill or time. It’s built to squeeze your wallet.

The economy is trash. You need 20 or more rares and a stack of mythics just to build one real deck. Want to try something new? Too bad. No trading. No dust system. No refunds. Just keep buying packs and hope you pull something usable. In paper Magic, at least you could trade or sell. In Arena, you get nothing back. Just digital cards locked behind a paywall.

Climbing to Mythic is a joke. You grind for hours every month just to get knocked back down and do it all again. There’s no real payoff. The meta is boring. Same decks on repeat. White lifegain. Mono red. Karn. Bolas. The names shift but the decks don’t. You either copy the broken deck or you lose.

Historic used to be creative. Alchemy ruined it. Now it’s just digital-only junk cards, overpowered garbage, and zero balance. No bans. No fixes. Just more broken mechanics shoved in to push new product.

This isn’t just me. A 2024 study by 1337.games ranked Arena the most unplayable game on Reddit. Out of all gaming communities, Arena had the highest number of complaints. Almost 30 percent of all posts on r/MagicArena called the game unplayable.

They made over 1.08 billion dollars last year. A huge chunk of that came from Arena. That money came from us. The players. And in return, we got a broken platform, a rigged ladder, and an economy that feels like a trap.

This is not the Magic we grew up on. It’s not what Richard Garfield created. Magic used to reward creative decks, smart play, and deep strategy. Arena rewards pay-to-win. It punishes innovation. It ignores player feedback. It sells nostalgia and gives you a slot machine.

I’m not writing this because I want a lawsuit or some payout. I’m writing this because I want the game fixed. I want to play a version of Magic that respects my time and money.

Here’s what we deserve:

A fair economy that rewards effort and gameplay

Monthly bans in all formats to shake things up

Real incentives for original decks, not just copying the meta

A better new player experience

Full transparency in matchmaking and the shuffler

MMR is a joke and should not be used.

There's nothing in real life like MMR saying who I can/can't be paired against in limited events, only record should matter, not some hidden MMR.

The shuffle gives like cards way to often, there is no way in a 60 card deck that you should draw all 4 copies of a card in one game without trying. And you shouldn't draw 6 lands/creatures/instants in a row. if a 60 card deck is 1/3 each.

The shuffler does not work correctly

Seems the shuffler is broken in best-of-3 too. Seems to tend towards low land hands or land floods. Sometimes I think it's purposely rigged to favor certain archetypes like RDW or cutter.
