ward didnt work
ward given to creature by "sheltered by ghosts" didn`t ask my opponent to pay extra 2 mana.
i had "wandering rescuer" and "angel of vitality" protected with "sheltered by ghosts"
he had 4 mana, played "bitter triumph" to destroy "wandering rescuer", had 2 mana left, played "parting gust" with gift promised, exiled "angel of vitality" without ward triggering at all.
maybe some interaction with removing hexproof or cards with gift abilities break the logic with wards.

So i have noticed this too but while playing against people with ward. At first I thought ward didn't apply to permanents targeted with Confiscate. Anytime I targeted a permanent with Confiscate it it bypassed it. Then i tried to Confiscate Valgavoth, Terror Eater with Confiscate and I prompted me to pay the ward cost.

Nowhere To Run breaks ward and hexproof. By design of the card.
