Doubling season not doubling stolen planeswalker
Had doubling season out. Forced opponent to sac Koth to Eldest Reborn. Returned their Koth to my battlefield with Eldest Reborn step 3. When activating Koth's +2 ability, it only adds +2, instead of the 4 counters Doubling Season should be applying, instead (maybe because I don't own it? But the card only says 'control'.)

DS doubles counters that are placed by an EFFECT. Adding loyalty counters to activate a loyalty ability is a COST. DS does not apply. It DOES apply to planeswalkers entering, so those enter with double the counters. Because planeswalker entering with counters is a replacement EFFECT.
